OUR STORY
Caralarga was born in 2014 from a simple yet powerful idea: to transform raw cotton yarn and textile waste into unique, timeless, and sustainable handcrafted jewelry pieces. From our earliest days, we have been inspired by the beauty of natural materials and the possibility of giving them new life through manual techniques.
Over time, we began experimenting with other raw materials such as sansevieria fiber—a plant from the Yucatán Peninsula—and recycled bull horn. This creative evolution led us to collaborate with artisans who preserve ancestral techniques and who, like us, value respect for nature.
The natural evolution of our work in textile jewelry led us to consider larger formats. Thus began a new path toward the design of decorative pieces for interiors, where raw cotton once again took center stage: decorative accents, tapestries, wall hangings, mirrors, and chandeliers became part of our portfolio. With this, we discovered a new way of thinking about handweaving: as a large-scale language that transforms spaces.
For several years we worked with cotton from the old El Hércules textile factory, where our workshop was also located. This iconic factory, a symbol of Querétaro's industrial boom since the 19th century, closed its doors in 2019. Since then, we have continued our work with cotton from new national suppliers, maintaining the quality and spirit of our brand.
The initial collection of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets was the starting point for a constant evolution that now encompasses clothing and interior design objects: tableware, wall and floor pieces, and large-format works. Thanks to the public's response and the organic growth of the project, we have expanded our team, which now consists of nearly 50 people. Many of them are direct relatives of former workers at El Hércules, allowing us to continue weaving a story that honors the textile past of this community.
After nearly a decade of growth, Caralarga is no longer a small home workshop. We've adapted to the times, expanding our global presence through digital platforms, social media, and an online store. Today, in addition to sharing our pieces, we tell the stories of the people behind them: a team whose dedication and talent continue to bring each thread to life.

THE HERCULES NEIGHBORHOOD
Our workshop is located in the former El Hércules textile factory, the epicenter of Querétaro's industrial development since the 19th century. This place not only marked the history of the state, but also gave rise to the neighborhood that surrounds it.
In Caralarga, we honor that legacy by collaborating with descendants of former workers and actively participating in the cultural life of the neighborhood. Traditions like the Rooster Festival inspire us, reminding us that we don't just work at Hércules: we are part of its living history.
SHOWROOM / EL TALLER
En el corazón de la antigua fábrica El Hércules, Caralarga comparte espacio con proyectos creativos que celebran el legado de este histórico barrio. Bajo una ramificación del acueducto de Querétaro, se encuentra nuestro showroom: una tienda abierta al público donde exhibimos desde joyería textil hasta obras en gran formato.
En el mismo espacio trabajan nuestros equipos de diseño, proyectos, comunicación y logística, haciendo posible cada colección. Al fondo, el taller da vida a todas nuestras piezas. Está dividido en áreas especializadas para trabajar piezas de hasta 7 metros, organizadas según las técnicas artesanales que aplicamos, como el embarrilado, la costura y el peinado.
También contamos con espacios dedicados al embalaje y a la creación de nuestras esferas textiles hechas con materiales reciclados, integrando los residuos como parte del proceso creativo.
