The willow chandelier takes its inspiration from traditional Mexican loom weaving, where the repetition of the weave creates firm and precise surfaces. Its main body is developed from a closed and continuous weave, evoking the petate technique and textiles made on a backstrap loom, in which each crossing of the thread is structure and memory.
By playing with the weave and the loose threads at the bottom, we created a contrast between two textures. This transition allows light to filter through in different ways, creating a light fixture full of silhouettes, shadows, and ways of interpreting light.
