CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Caralarga pieces are decorative textiles handcrafted from natural fibers, primarily cotton yarn. Due to their artisanal nature, it is essential to follow these care instructions and recommendations to preserve their beauty and extend their lifespan.

COMMON DAMAGES

  • Dust accumulation
  • Twisted or tangled threads
  • Variation in tone (yellowing due to direct exposure to sunlight)
  • Bad smell if it has been in contact with moisture

IMPORTANT CARE

UNPACKING WITHIN A MAXIMUM OF 5 DAYS
The item should be removed from its packaging within the first five days of receipt. Storing it for longer, especially in humid environments, can lead to mold growth on the fibers and cause irreversible damage.

FOR INDOOR USE ONLY
These pieces are designed for indoor use only. They must be installed in a well-ventilated area, protected from rain , humidity , and direct sunlight .

AVOID DIRECT SUN EXPOSURE
Like any natural textile, prolonged exposure to sunlight can alter the tone of cotton yarn.

KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT SOURCES
Cotton is a flammable material. It should be kept away from candles, fireplaces, halogen lamps, or other heat sources.

MINIMUM RECOMMENDED HEIGHT
To keep the piece clean and free from contact with mops and brooms, it is recommended to install it at a minimum height of 10 cm from the floor .

AVOID CONSTANT CONTACT
If the piece is within easy reach, it is advisable to minimize direct contact. Frequent rubbing can alter its shape. In these cases, it is recommended to brush it more often.

IDEAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The pieces should be placed in areas where the humidity level does not exceed 55% . Installation is not recommended in bathrooms, terraces, or places with extreme temperature changes without environmental control.

MAINTENANCE

Do not get wet
Cotton yarn should not get wet under any circumstances. Contact with liquids can affect its stiffness, distort its natural drape, and cause unpleasant odors.

Recurring surface cleaning

It is recommended to remove dust using a clean, dry cloth. A vacuum cleaner with a soft nozzle can also be used, avoiding direct contact with the threads.

Brushing

To prevent the threads from tangling or twisting, the piece should be brushed with a wide-tooth comb or a small brush, especially in dry climates or spaces with temperature changes.

Pest prevention

Because they are made of natural fibers, they may attract moths or other insects. It is recommended to keep the area clean, well-ventilated, and dry. Do not apply chemicals or insecticides directly to the piece.

TRANSFER OR REINSTATEMENT

Moving or reinstalling the piece is not recommended. If necessary, the piece should be carefully protected with kraft paper or clean sheets. Avoid using plastics or fabrics that generate lint or retain moisture.
