INSPIRATION
It's born from the dialogue between our Recovered technique and tassels wrapped in cotton thread. Its aesthetics remind us of the geometry and visual language of mayan numbering system, where the dot and the stripes become essential elements to represent the world.
The piece translates these symbols creating a lines, volumes and shapes composition that meet and repeat over a structure of unique rhythm and visual balance. The dots appear as textile bodies that interrupt and articulate the stripes, evoking an ancestral language from a contemporary perspective.
Puntos y Rayas explores how a system of representation can become matter, texture and movement, uniting memory in an artisanal work.
