Camino de Muertos

A decorative textile where a composition of floral and geometric forms unfolds across the piece, framed by a softly undulating edge that brings movement to its contours. The arrangement of motifs, symmetry and small figures woven into the composition draw from the visual language of traditional mexican textiles, where nature, flowers and organic forms become elements through which identity and memory are expressed.

The piece carries this distinctly Mexican tradition into a contemporary language, replacing conventional embroidery with a construction shaped through thread and handcraft. Raw cotton becomes the canvas, while dyed cotton thread acts as the brush, creating a contemporary ornamental border that recalls the samplers and decorative compositions found across different communities in Mexico.
